A man was found dead this morning after his car rolled near Dillon Reservoir, troopers said.

A caller notified the Colorado State Patrol of an abandoned vehicle east of Colorado 9 near Swan Mountain Road at 7:03 a.m. It's unclear when the accident occurred.

Troopers determined the 1992 Dodge Stealth was traveling north on Colorado 9 when the driver lost control, ran off the right side of the highway, vaulted 100 feet and rolled 250 feet before landing on its wheels.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors, troopers said.
