Drugs, guns found near scene of killing

Denver police found drugs, a firearm and a bandanna near the scene of a shooting that claimed the life of a tattoo parlor owner last week, according to court papers.
Bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia allegedly were in plain view in a car behind Mr. Tank's Tattoos in the 6600 block of East Colfax Avenue.
The car belonged to a witness who was at the business at the time of the shooting, according to the document.
The witness told detectives that the victim's wife had asked her "to get rid of the drugs."
Joshua Trobaugh, 27, was shot and killed shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 22 during a confrontation with two masked gunmen at his South Park Hill business.
His wife, Andie, and the other witness escaped unharmed.
Trobaugh's wife admitted to detectives that she gave the drugs to the woman because she didn't want them to think her husband was gunned down because drugs were in the shop, a detective wrote in the affidavit for a search warrant.
Prior to the shooting, two assailants had walked into the shop and demanded, "Where's the (expletive)?" according to the affidavit.
Sonny Jackson, police spokesman, said detectives were treating the case as a robbery and homicide, but were looking at all possibilities.
Witnesses told detectives that the gunmen stole money from the victim's pockets after the shooting.
But detectives found that the cash register was closed and contained money. A safe was not open either, the detectives wrote.
Detectives unlocked the safe and found two assault rifles and two semi-automatic handguns inside.
In their search of the business, they also discovered a firearm wrapped in a blue bandanna in one of the tattoo booths.
The witnesses told detectives that the attackers wore baggy clothing and had covered their faces with blue bandannas, according to the court papers.
