Water sales boost Head Start in Denver

Published August 30, 2007 at midnight

Three Early Head Start child development centers in Denver will share $25,000 that was raised through local sales of Mile High H2O bottled water, a partnership of Deep Rock Water and the city.

Mayor John Hickenlooper and Deep Rock Water executives made the donation today at Family Star Montessori and Early Head Start in west Denver.

The money will be divided proportionally based on the number of students in each program, said Sarah Moss, a mayoral spokeswoman.

Family Star will receive $7,295; Catholic Charities will get $7,005; and Clayton Family Futures Early Head Start is getting $10,700.

Deep Rock has pledged to donate 10 cents of every Mile High H2O bottle sold to Denver's Invest In Success early childhood education initiative, a program of the Mayor's Office for Education and Children.
