WordWorld, debuting Monday on PBS Kids, aims to bring words to life and make preparing to read fun for 3- to 5-year-olds. Characters and objects in WordWorld are composed of the letters in the word naming them. For example, the body of the character Dog is made up of the letters D-O-G. WordWorld airs at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday on KRMA-Channel 6.
your emmy guide
TV Guide Network will premiere more than eight hours of programming dedicated to the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, including comprehensive red-carpet coverage and original specials. The network recently signed TV host and fashion entrepreneur Lisa Rinna and Joey Fatone, host of the NBC series The Singing Bee and former *NSync member, to host Live at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 16.

Matt Stone, after he and South Park co-creator Trey Parker agreed to a three-season extension of cable's top-rated animated series and entered into a joint venture with Comedy Central to create South Park Digital Studios.
'gene' poll
A&E Network has launched an online viewers' choice contest for Gene Simmons Family Jewels on AETV.com, allowing fans of the real-life series to choose which episodes will be rebroadcast. Viewers can vote until Sept. 6 at aetv.com/viewers-choice. Viewers can watch clips from 10 episodes, then choose their favorites. The top two will air on A&E on Sept. 9.
