Michigan cops snared in sex scandal

Published August 30, 2007 at midnight

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Five police officers and another police employee could lose their jobs after being accused of having sex with a female colleague at police headquarters.

The Grand Rapids Press reported the story earlier this week, citing an unidentified person close to the investigation.

The source said Chief Harry Dolan recommended six male workers be suspended without pay pending their termination. Dolan has taken a job as police chief in Raleigh, N.C.

The officers earlier were on paid leave during the internal investigation.

A former female employee reportedly engaged in sex with up to 10 police department employees. The encounters with the other four employees reportedly happened off duty, and they have not been disciplined.
