Class 5A top 5 teams
1 Dakota Ridge: The addition of Kaitie Vanatta could carry the Eagles into the rankings nationally.
2 Heritage: The entire varsity is returning to compete for the traditionally strong squad.
3 Cherry Creek: With about 400 athletes in the program, the defending champ could have another strong team.
4 Arapahoe: The Warriors' popular program returns its top five runners and has enough talent to hold strong.
5 Rocky Mountain: The Lobos graduated the 2006 individual champ, but everyone else is back.
