Boys cross country top teams & players

Class 5A top 5 teams

1 Wheat Ridge: The Farmers finished third last year, and with everyone back they are the clear favorites.

2 Dakota Ridge: Evan Appel, the top returnee, can lead the Eagles to success.

3 Cherry Creek: The Bruins have enough talent to support nationally ranked Charles White.

4 Fairview: Only its top runner graduated, meaning the rest of this talented team remains the same.

5 Fort Collins: The Lambkins suffered graduation losses, but junior Clif Campbell can take the team far.

3 Denver North: Returning state champion Joseph Manilafasha and brother Eric Ndikumana will keep the Vikings in the hunt.

4 Cheyenne Mountain: The Indians return five members from their fifth-place team.

5 Montrose: With the entire squad returning, the Indians should better their 10th-place finish.
