DU basketball teams to be on television

FSN Rocky Mountain will telecast five University of Denver men's basketball games and two Pioneers women's basketball games this season.

The cable/satellite channel will telecast home games for the DU men's team against Wyoming (7 p.m. Nov. 13), Colorado (7 p.m. Nov. 27), Northern Colorado (4 p.m. Dec. 8), North Texas (4 p.m. Dec. 22) and Louisiana Lafayette (noon Feb. 10).

The women's home games to be telecast are against Duke (4 p.m. Nov. 11), which includes ThunderRidge High School graduate Abby Waner, and Colorado State (7 p.m. Nov. 28).

McQUILLIAMS HONORED Metro State freshman midfielder Madison McQuilliams was named the women's soccer offensive player of the week by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after recording five goals and two assists in two games last weekend.

Fort Lewis goalie Bree Baker was named the week's top defensive player.

In other awards:

Metro State junior midfielder Ola Sandquist was named the RMAC men's soccer offensive player of the week after recording three goals and two assists in two weekend games.

Colorado School of Mines defender Nick Kubala was named the week's top defensive player.

RIVER CATS EDGE SKY SOX Dan Meyer and three relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Pacific Coast League's Sacramento River Cats won 2-1 against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in West Sacramento, Calif.

AUSTIN TAKES CROWN Christie Austin of Cherry Hills Country Club totaled a two-round 160 to win the Senior Stroke Play Championship of the Colorado Women's Golf Association.

Austin hung on with six pars and one birdie to win by five shots at The Broadmoor Golf Club's West Course.

In other golf tournaments:

Fort Collins resident Ken Cosper fired a 2-under-par 70 to earn medalist honors in a qualifier at Coal Creek Golf Course in Louisville for the Colorado Golf Association's Mid-Amateur Championship.

NBADL DRAFT Former University of Colorado athlete Chris Copeland and former Colorado 14ers players Chad Bell, Tony Bobbitt and Mark Jones will be available in the NBA Development League expansion draft Sept. 5.

ROBERTSON ON TRACK Arvada driver Darren Robertson won the Late Models feature race Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway in Erie.
