This just in - Joan Allard likes Fred Thompson, below.

Yes, that Joan Allard, wife of U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, an honorary chairman of presidential candidate Mitt Romney's state finance committee.

Thompson, a former senator and actor, is considering a run for the presidency.

"He makes me feel good," Joan Allard said.

No word on whether she's a big Law & Order fan, although her husband has always been a law-and -order type.

IT'S A DISASTER!

No, it's not a real disaster, but Mayor John Hickenlooper wants Denver residents to be prepared in the event one should happen.

As part of an educational effort known as Be Ready, neighborhood groups are being encouraged to come up with plans to deal with a disaster. Other cities around Colorado also are participating. More information, and guidelines on what items should be kept in an emergency kit, are available at readycolorado.com.

"The more people who keep a 72-hour kit somewhere in their house, the better off we'll all be."
