Ten U.S. postal stamps with scenic and wildlife images of one of Colorado's natural wonders are coming to a mailbox near you.

The Alpine Tundra sheet was unveiled at 11 a.m. today at Rocky Mountain National Park, the source of the inspiration for the images.

"The ceremony reflected the genuine pride that we live in one of the nicest places in the country," said Al DeSarro, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service.

The 41-cent stamps are available for purchase in postal offices in Colorado and across the nation, DeSarro said.

The stamp picture pane depicts a summer tundra at about 12,000 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park. Plants native to the park and more than 24 animals, including bighorn sheep, a golden eagle, a yellow-bellied marmot with snow-capped mountains in the background, are part of the image.

DeSarro said more than 200 people attended the ceremony, with some coming from as far as California. Many were stamp collectors.
