Regis women shut out by Grand Valley State
Katy Tafler scored in the 38th minute to lift the Grand Valley State women's soccer team (2- 0), ranked second in NCAA Division II, to a 1-0 win against host Regis University (1-1) on Sunday.

Defending national champion Metro State (2-0) slapped West Florida 3-0 on Friday and Georgia Southwestern 14-1 on Saturday in Pensacola, Fla.
Elanna Brady's penalty-kick goal in the 89th minute carried Barry (1-1) to a 2-1 win against Colorado School of Mines (0-2) on Sunday in Golden.
Lauren Marts' 41st-minute tally Sunday was the only goal for Adams State (1-2) in a 7-1 loss to host West Texas A&M.
Sara Egbom's overtime goal Sunday gave Fort Lewis (2-0) a 1-0 win against Montana State-Billings in Durango.

TIJERINA IN FRONT Aurora runner Mondo Tijerina won the ERace Homelessness 10-kilometer run Saturday at Denver's City Park, finishing in 39 minutes, 17 seconds. Denver resident Tanya Sanee won the women's 10K in 44:08.
BURWICK TAKES FLAG Aurora driver Eric Burwick outlasted Broomfield resident Joe Bellm in the Modifieds feature race Saturday at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan.
