Spaghetti Monster has a following

Sean recently saw a bumper sticker with the letters "WWFSMD" and a squiggle of lines with two dots in the middle; he wanted to know what it was.

Several readers had the answer. The initials, said Danny, stand for "What Would (the) Flying Spaghetti Monster Do?" It's a tongue-in-cheek response to the Kansas Board of Education's recent efforts to require the teaching of creationism in public- school science classes in addition to evolution.

Adherents of "pastafarianism" want the board to mandate that schools teach their belief that the Flying Spaghetti Monster (represented on the bumper sticker by squiggly noodles and two meatballs) created life. They believe it's as valid a science as creationism.

In the meantime, it's developed into a "movement" with bumper stickers, T-shirts and other typical paraphernalia. For a full discussion, Lanita advises going to en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ WWFSMD.

It's time for another challenge:

If you drove your car backward for over a mile, would it decrease the mileage on your odometer? - Jeffrey
