SIMONS: Check out library's used-book bonanza

Hardbound books are $2, paperbacks a mere 50 cents and more valuable books are individually priced during the 32nd Annual Denver Public Library Used Book Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Denver Central Library, between 13th and 14th avenues on Broadway. In addition to those 50,000 books, the sale features CDs, DVDs and videotapes. Proceeds help support the library. For more information, go to denverlibrary.org.

More than 30 merchants are offering bargains galore at the annual Historic Downtown Littleton Sidewalk Sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today along Main Street. The organic farmers' market, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a bounce house and a Corvette show, 2 to 7 p.m. at Woodlawn Shopping Center, add to the festivities.

Children's clothing, equipment, toys and maternity wear from nearly 200 families are for sale at the 27th semiannual Mothers of Multiples Society Sale, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at the Douglas County Events Center, 500 Fairgrounds Drive, Castle Rock. Budding Rembrandts can save money on art supplies at the Back to Art School sale at Meininger Art Supply, 499 Broadway, 303-698-3838, and 201 S. Weber St., Colorado Springs, 719-578-8070, meininger.com. Stretched canvases and brushes are buy-one-get-one-free, and sketchbooks, paints, markers and easels also are on sale through Sept. 30.

Tents will start at about $50, sleeping bags about $30, and other camping equipment will sell at similar discounts during the truckload sale Friday through Labor Day at the Coleman Factory Outlet in Castle Rock, 303-660-4094.
