I-25 closed at Speer after accident

Published August 25, 2007 at midnight

Denver police have closed southbound Interstate 25 at Speer Boulevard after a person was found injured on the highway.

Traffic detectives were trying to figure out whether the victim jumped from the West Colfax Avenue bridge and fell on the highway or if he was hit by a passing motorist.

The victim's condition was not known late Friday, said detective John White, police spokesman.

Officers diverted southbound traffic at Speer Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. while they investigated the accident.
