BROWN: Only luck can get you into this show

Published August 24, 2007 at midnight

One of the best concerts of the fall is one you can't buy. KBCO is putting Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, Keb Mo and more at the Paramount Theatre on Oct. 18, with tickets available only to contest winners.

You salute the station for the coup, but it's frustrating that big fans are relying on chance to see a great show.

Tickets you can actually buy? Here's what's up. All tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Saturday unless otherwise noted.

Ogden Theatre: Tickets for Bright Eyes are on sale now for the Sept. 13 show ($30). Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday for Pat Monahan of Train on his solo tour, Oct. 16 ($25). String Cheese Incident side projects Zilla and EOTO are set for Oct. 27 ($20). Ghost Face Killah, Rakim and more are on Nov. 8 ($25). Finally, the Hold Steady (which got rave reviews last time) returns Nov. 12, on sale at noon Saturday ($17).

Boulder Theater: Boys Like Girls is set for Nov. 13 ($15).

Fillmore Auditorium: The Chemical Brothers perform Sept. 26 with The Faint ($32). If you buy Chemical Brothers tickets along with Underworld tickets, it's just $50. GWAR and Cradle of Filth appear Oct. 16 ($25). Static X is there Oct. 25 ($25).

Temple Buell Theatre: Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood of Whose Line Is It Anyway fame appear on Oct. 13, with tickets on sale now ($34.50, $39.50 and $47.50).

RUMORS AND HEARSAY: Ordinary People, one of Neil Young's greatest songs known only from live versions in the '80s, finally gets a legit release on his new album, Chrome Dreams II, with a street date coming soon. Young will then mount his first non-CSNY tour since Greendale. . . . Bad news for Denver: Although Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band is doing a U.S. tour in October, it's mainly the coasts, not us. We'll get the tour late spring/early summer, likely at (take a deep breath) Coors Amphitheatre. . . . That Hannah Montana concert we told you about last week was a quick sellout, with parents all over the metro area now pulling out their hair to get tickets.
