Aurora couple held on suspicion of running a drug lab

AURORA - A 5-year-old boy was supposed to start kindergarten Wednesday. Instead, the tot and a 2-year-old brother are in foster care after their parents were arrested on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine in their home.

Daniel Jerome Pint, 38, and wife, Lisa Pint, 38, are being held in Arapahoe County Detention Wednesday on suspicion of running a drug lab out of a rented townhome, said Aurora Police spokesman Bob Friel.

When the Aurora SWAT team entered the home in the 16900 block of East Whitaker Drive at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers found Lisa Pint holding one of her children in her arms in the kitchen, where it appeared the drug was being made, Friel said.

The environment is dangerous to children, because materials used to create the drug can produce toxic phosphene, sulfuric -acid and hydrochloric acid fumes, Friel said.

In February 2005, Aurora police raided another home Lisa Pint was living in and discovered another suspected lab. They also found a boy and a girl in that home.

She pleaded guilty to possession of a dangerous drug.
