Pearl Street Stampedes return to Boulder this fall.

The CU football pep rallies on Fridays before each home game will feature 200 members of the University of Colorado marching band and also CU Buffs players and coaches.

Students returning this week to Denver Public Schools are finding some very warm classrooms as temperatures hovering in the 90s meet buildings without central cooling.

DOG DAYS RELIEF

The third annual Barker Days come to Parker Sept. 8.

What: Pool swimming, fun and socialization for canine pets. Contests, races, a dog wash and demonstrations by K-9 and rescue-dog units.

Where: H2O'Brien Pool and the O'Brien Park ball field, Parker

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

Required: Current rabies tag and ID tag. Leashes outside the fenced event area. All dogs must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration: $5 per dog for Parker residents, $7 for nonresidents; humans are free. Pre-registration at parkerrec.com. is strongly recommended.
