Sports format on KNRC interrupted

Published August 21, 2007 at midnight

Executives at KNRC-AM (1510) have switched the station's format back to "classic country" music after featuring a sports schedule since July 30.

But Dave Rogers, NRC corporation's chief executive officer, said the switch "could be only temporary."

"We're revisiting the deal we thought we had with Mile High Sports," he said. "Hopefully, we'll have a signed agreement soon if all the details are worked out."

Mile High Sports had been operating the station since July 30 under a Local Marketing Agreement.

But NRC remains the station's official owner until the Federal Communications Commission approves the sale. Mile High Sports was offering full-time sports programming featuring local talk show hosts and talent from the Sporting News Radio Network.
