America's plans for opening the space frontier will be showcased in an interactive exhibit that will tour Colorado beginning Friday.

The exhibit will feature exploration of the moon and future voyages to Mars and beyond.

NASA's "Vision for Space Exploration Experience" traveling exhibit will give visitors a glimpse into America's future in space.

The three-stop Colorado tour will be on display Friday through Sunday at the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival at Chatfield State Park.

The tour moves to the Wings Over Rockies Museum in Denver on Aug. 31 through Sept. 3 and will conclude Sept. 5-7 at the Fisk Planetarium in Boulder.

NASA staffers will be available to answer questions and discuss the thousands of technologies used on Earth as a result of space research and development.

The exhibit is free and wheelchair-accessible, NASA said in a press release.
