THEY'RE NO. 1!

1 is the ranking of the Air Force Academy for "most accessible professors" in the latest survey by The Princeton Review. (The academy also ranked No. 1 in low marijuana usage). The Review asked 120,000 students at 366 colleges to rate their schools in dozens of categories and report on their campus experiences.

So where does your alma mater rank? Here are some of the more interesting No. 1s on the list:

Top Party School: University of West Virginia, Morgantown

Best Classroom Experience: Reed College, Portland, Ore.

Most Politically Active Students: George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

Biggest Fraternity and Sorority Scene: DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind.

Top Stone-Cold Sober School: Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah

Most Diverse Student Body: Temple University, Philadelphia

Everyone Plays Intramural Sports: University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind.

Students Pack the Stadium: University of Maryland, College Park

VICE . . . OR VIRTUE?

A blog is floating Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter's name as vice presidential material.

"Democrats are bullish on the West . . . and Ritter, a pro-life law-and-order type, could be just the vice presidential candidate for a more liberal top of the ticket running mate," according to RealClearPolitics.com

Not bad for a guy who has been in the job less than a year and who was considered a long shot to be the Democratic gubernatorial nominee.

The most recent governor elected to the vice presidency was Spiro Agnew (Maryland) in 1968 and 1972. The most recent governor to hold the office (by appointment) was Nelson Rockefeller (New York) from 1974-77 under President Ford.
