A charter pilot from Corpus Christi, Texas, was able to walk away Sunday after his Cessna 185 crashed into trees at the end of an airstrip near Lake San Cristobal in Hinsdale County.

The pilot, Riley Moore, was unable to gain enough altitude as he took off toward Sunday afternoon, said Hinsdale County Sheriff Ron Bruce.
