Travis Henry's sprain doesn't appear to be serious

Published August 19, 2007 at midnight

IRVING, Texas ? Travis Henry was wearing a white sleeve on his left knee after Saturday night?s game.

But the sprain of the medial collateral ligament the Denver Broncos running back suffered during the second quarter of his team?s preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys doesn?t appear to be serious.

?We?ll see how it is tomorrow,? said Henry, who scheduled to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam on Sunday as a precaution. ?I feel like everything?s all right because I didn?t feel no pop in there. I think it?ll be good.?

Henry was hurt on a first-and-goal carry from the Cowboys 3. He was able to leave the field under his own power. But once he reached the sideline he needed to be helped to the bench by two of the team?s athletic trainers.

Coach Mike Shanahan said after the game that Henry?s knee was a first-degree sprain, the mildest kind.

?It?s a day-to-day thing,? Henry insisted. ?It?s nothing too serious.?
