The long-awaited 16-screen Century Theater is open at Boulder's Twenty Ninth Street mall, and the neighboring stores and restaurants between 28th and 30th streets on Arapahoe are celebrating with an assortment of deals and sales. You might need to turn in a movie stub to cash in, so you might as well catch a show. Examples include: free appetizer with $15 purchase at the California Pizza Kitchen; 30 percent to 40 percent off all merchandise at Helly Hansen sportswear; 20 percent off at Jesela Blues Denim Boutique; and gifts at Lady Footlocker, Select Comfort and Sephora. Tag-sale season for children's clothing and accessories kicks off this week with two huge sales.
The fall-winter sale for Wee Sale Resale is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 at Parker's Mainstreet Center, on the south side of Mainstreet at Pikes Peak Street.
