ARAPAHOE COUNTY - A 3-year-old boy was bitten by an injured or dying squirrel Friday afternoon while playing near his home.

The boy, who was not identified, was taken to Children's Hospital by his parents after he complained of feeling sick. His condition was not known Friday evening.

Deputies were called at 4:45 p.m. to a home in the 5500 block of East Briarwood Avenue.

Animal control officers were able to retrieve the squirrel, which is being tested.
