GRRREAT RELIEF
It's been a long 24 hours, but the ordeal is finally over. Teri the Tiger came home.
Teri, a 6-foot-long, 4-foot-tall promotional plastic tiger, was taken about 11 a.m. Tuesday outside of Wok and Roll Teriyaki restaurant at Foothills Parkway and Baseline Road in Boulder.
An employee who was outside holding a "Grand Opening" banner said Teri was cat-napped when the employee stepped inside the store for a moment.
It turns out that a man was driving down the street and saw Teri unattended; he figured someone had lost the tiger and picked it up and put it in his vehicle. When he saw an article about the cat-napping in the Daily Camera Wednesday morning, he called Steve King, the owner of the restaurant. Teri was returned around 11 a.m. Wednesday with a new name tag and collar, compliments of the man who returned him.
King wouldn't name the man, chalking the incident up to an honest mistake.
"Teri is home and happy. He wants to go back outside, but we won't let him. He's grounded," King said.
