Sept. 16 for Avalanche's Burgundy-White Game
The Avalanche will hold its annual Burgundy-White Game at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Ice Arena at 11 a.m. Sept. 16.
Proceeds from this year's game will benefit military families and initiatives of the Colorado Avalanche Youth Hockey program.
The previous seven Burgundy- White intrasquad games have raised more than $400,000.
Tickets for the game go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday through the Air Force Academy box office.
Prices range from $12 to $20.

ATTRITION HOUNDS CU Candace Rucker has decided to leave the University of Colorado women's basketball program, coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said.
Rucker, a 5-foot10 guard, is expected to transfer to a school closer to her hometown of Memphis, Tenn.
Former CU point guard Kal Bay reportedly will play at the College of Eastern Utah.
METRO STATE PICKED TO WIN The Metro State women's and men's soccer teams were picked to win their respective titles in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in polls by the league's coaches.
Metro State forward Shaun Elbaum was named the preseason RMAC men's player of the year.
Regis defender Tara Kirkpatrick was named the top preseason women's player.
SENIOR DOUBLE Colorado Springs resident Dave Arbuckle totaled a two-round 135 to win the Colorado PGA Senior Section Championship for the second consecutive year.
Arbuckle won by one shot ahead of Lakewood resident Ron Vlosich and Pueblo golfer Michael Zaremba at Indian Peaks Golf Course in Lafayette.
In another golf tournament:
Greeley resident Bill Boyd carded a 69 to take medalist honors in a U.S. Golf Association Senior Amateur Championships qualifier at Heritage Eagle Bend Golf and Country Club in Aurora.
Kelly Crone (Littleton, 70), Scott Radcliffe (Golden, 71) and Brady Hendren (Denver, 71) also qualified. Charlie Post (Castle Rock) and Chuck Fisher (Westminster) were named alternates.
51s BEAT SKY SOX Marshall McDougall recorded four hits and five RBI to power the Pacific Coast League's Las Vegas 51s to a 10-4 victory against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs.
