Published August 15, 2007 at midnight
The southbound lane of the U.S. 24 bridge over the Arkansas River near Buena Vista is closed for repairs after inspectors found a fracture on part of the structure Tuesday.
Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stacey Stegman says a temporary repair in an angle connector should be completed today.
Work to replace the piece has not yet been scheduled.
CDOT had been inspecting deck truss bridges after the fatal collapse
of a similar bridge in Minnesota.
