Tulo named co-player of the week

Rockies Rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was selected co-winner of the NL Player of the Week award, along with Pirates left-handed pitcher Tom Gorzelanny on Monday.
Tulowitzki is the third Rockies player to win the award this year, joining outfielders Brad Hapwe (June 3) and Matt Holliday (July 29).
Tulowitzki, the Rockies' first-round draft pick and seventh player taken overall in the 2005 draft, hit .483 with 12 RBI, 14 hits and 27 total bases, all tops in the NL. He hit three home runs and four doubles with a .931 slugging percentage, .531 on-base percentage, and seven runs scored.
Other Rockies candidates for the weekly honor included third baseman Garrett Atkins (.440, 7 RBI), Hawpe (.368, 3 HR, 8 RBI), second baseman Kazuo Matsui (.455) and right-handed pitcher Josh Fogg (2-0, 2.77).
