KIDS ALSO SERVE
"Hero Packs" will be handed out Friday at the Jefferson County Fair to children who have a parent deployed with the National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve. Jeffco 4-H clubs and Colorado Operation Military Kids will distribute the packs, which include stationery and cameras, to help kids stay connected with their loved ones through letters and photos.

27 Toyota Prius hybrid sedans will roll into service in the Denver government motor pool by year's end. The gas sippers - which get 46 miles to the gallon and cost $21,752 each - will replace older hybrids, bringing the city's hybrid fleet to 104 vehicles, not counting those used at DIA:
76 Toyota Priuses (including the 27 new ones)
24 Ford Escape Hybrids
4 Toyota Camry Hybrids
