Bellorin placed on DL; Colina promoted

Edwin Bellorin's first trip to the major leagues lasted only four innings.

Two days after being called up by the Rockies, the veteran minor league catcher was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.

Bellorin, brought up Monday from Triple-A Colorado Springs, made only one plate appearance, hitting into a double play in the second inning and straining a hamstring while running out the play. He played two more innings but had to be replaced by regular catcher Yorvit Torrealba.

The Rockies promoted catcher Alvin Colina to take Bellorin's place. Colina was hitting .204 with five homers and 29 runs batted in in 64 games with the Sky Sox.
