New roadblock in Jeffco body mystery
Case is tangled in probe of discovery of body by Realtor

A missing girlfriend is the latest roadblock for police trying to unravel the mystery of how an Eskimo wound up dead outside a home in Morrison.
Investigators believe the woman went missing about the time 41-year-old Robert Alurac was killed.
Since Alurac's body was found last month by a Realtor showing the Morrison home, authorities have executed three search warrants in the metro area.
The case took another bizarre twist Sunday when SWAT officers shot and killed a "person of interest" in the investigation after the man climbed out of a Parker motel window.
No arrests have been made.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Monday it is now looking for Alurac's 46-year-old girlfriend, Colleen Kay Barrett. She has been missing since July 18, which is about the time Alurac was killed, sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said.
"She's a critical interview," Kelley said, adding that there's no evidence to consider Barrett a suspect in Alurac's death. "We're concerned about her well-being."
Kelley said she didn't know what Barrett did for a living and that investigators had difficulty finding her last known address.
Court records show a warrant for Barrett's arrest was issued May 15 after she failed to appear in Jefferson County Court on a charge of drinking in public.
Alurac, an Eskimo who relatives said lived in Anchorage and Oklahoma before moving to Lakewood, was found dead July 23 outside a $390,000 home for sale in the 8400 block of Scenic Drive.
Alurac's body had been there for some time, investigators said.
Alurac was identified Friday through fingerprint analysis, the sheriff's office said.
The man killed by a Douglas County SWAT team about 12 a.m. Sunday outside the Parker Super 8 Motel, 6230 Pine Lane, threatened officers with a gun, Kelley said.
The man's name has not been released because police said they haven't notified his next of kin. A woman in the same motel room with the man was questioned by the Douglas and Jefferson County sheriff's offices but was not arrested, Kelley said.
Anyone with information about Alurac or Barrett is asked to call the Jefferson County sheriff's tip line at 303-271-5612.
Barrett is a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing about 130 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.
