A 52-year-old divorced father of two was sentenced Wednesday to two weeks in jail plus 21/2 years probation for trying arrange a meeting for sex with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl in an Internet chat room.

Dorne Grady Butts pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault on a child and must register as a sex offender.

He was arrested in December after three days of increasingly graphic chats with the girl, who turned out to be an undercover investigator with the Jefferson County district attorney's office.
