If you're going kayaking in the South Platte or are headed to Sloan's Lake for a little recreation this weekend or after work, you can check the water quality online before you go.

Summertime means bacteria levels can vary wildly. So Denver Environmental Health tests weekly for bacteria in Cherry Creek, Confluence, the South Platte and Sloan's Lake. Advisories are posted when the bacteria reaches high levels. Go to to find the latest readings.
