Plan would protect Denver city workers
Published August 1, 2007 at midnight
Denver city workers would be protected from retaliation for reporting government improprieties under a proposed ordinance.
The whistle-blower protection ordinance would shield workers for reporting illegal activities, unethical practices or other official misconduct.
Councilwoman Jeanne Faatz, the bill's sponsor, called it "a measure of good government."
"I want to be sure that employees have the protections that I think are appropriate in a governmental unit," she said.
