This picture was shot on the trail leading up to Hanging Lake near Glenwood Springs. I wanted to show the waterfall with movement, keeping a nice feel to it. To do this I had to shoot at a very low shutter speed with my camera secured by resting it on a rock (this way I didn't have to carry a tripod).

Making the picture

• Camera and lens: I used my Nikon D2H and my 70-200 zoom.

• Technique: The slow shutter causes the water to blur while the still items stay sharp.
