• Grace Under Pressure: Learning Kayak Roll: A bit dated, not the best film technique but still a lot of good information

• The Kayak Roll: Excellent. One of the most comprehensive - complete with see-through kayaks and great underwater shots.

• Kayaking with Eric Jackson. Strokes, Concepts and Rolling: Wonderful for strokes. The roll section is almost too brief to be helpful.

• EJ's Rolling and Bracing: Available in DVD format only. Excellent. Jackson's techniques are a little different from other people's, but this is a solid educational tool.

BOOKS

• The Bombproof Roll and Beyond. Kayaking on the Edge, by Paul Dutky: This is really the only book worth reading on the kayak roll.

HOW TO LEARN

Friends don't teach friends to Eskimo Roll. Find a qualified instructor. The following places offer classes and access to warm pools.
